How about that Michigan baseball team?  2-0 so far in the College World Series after a dominating pitching performance last night vs. the Noles.

Two TCDB trades to cover today; both small PWE trades focused solely on Wolverines.  My fourth trade with Steelersfan kicks us off.  When I saw this Charles Woodson RC pop up in my “Match Alerts” I immediately fired off a proposal:

My first trade with T-Rex70 follows.  A pair of Marty Turco’s to add to the Michigan collection:

Of course, Woodson led UM to the national title in 1997 while also winning the Heisman.  Meanwhile, Turco was in net for title winning teams in 1996 and 1998

I made a Target run Saturday morning.  They have spent the past two months or so remodeling and rearranging our local store.  It feels like the card section got a tad smaller.  Anyhoo, on the way to check out I picked up two more fatpacks of 2019 Score.  As with the first pair I purchased, nothing of note to share once again.  I also picked up 2019 Topps Series 2 packs for Owen’s collection:

 

I received two TCDB trades in the mail today.  My third trade with hawkking yields a pair of Jordan’s:

Absolutely perfect weather yesterday - low 70s, abundant sunshine, low humidity, gentle breeze.  Perfect day for a little kayaking!

I've learned that either Seinfeld or The Simpsons can be applied to just about anything in life.  Well... 

Turns out I completed my 1989 Score football set earlier this week.  Ten cards from a previous transaction did not properly migrate.  Happy that the set is indeed complete, however, disappointed that I did not get to properly celebrate its completion.  I’m a Grade A moron.

I ran out over lunch and grabbed the mail.  Two packages to cover this afternoon; both TCDB trades.  The first is my second “If The Phils Win You Win” contest win.  I now have a complete 1992-93 Upper Deck basketball set thanks to these additions:

The bulk of the trade is devoted to hockey set builders.  A 1990-91 Pro Set ERR toward the master set (96.7%) and then 1992-93 Upper Deck (97.8%) additions:

Congratulations to the St. Louis Blues and their long-suffering fans.  Heck of a performance last night.  The Bruins had numerous chances in the first period and dominated play, but the Blues capitalized on their few chances to take the lead.  That second goal with only seconds remaining in the first period felt huge.  You think you're going into the locker room down 1-0, we only need one, but suddenly you're down 2-0 and your hold mindset shifts.

I got a kick out of the whole Jim-Pam back-and-forth on social media.  I wish the series could continue just we could get more Jim and Pam!

Am I the only person who dislikes Brad Marchand?  There's something about that guy.  Whenever I see his face pop up on the screen I think, "That guy looks like he did something to deserve a punch in the face."

The second package comes courtesy of herkojerko.  I was finally lucky enough to win a spot in his “If The Phils Win You Win” contest.  I immediately knew what I would select first:

 My 1989 Score set is now 97.5% complete.  Almost there.

Received four packages yesterday.  The day’s lone TCDB trade leads us off.  This is my first trade with rrk1918 and it begins with three for the 1990 Upper Deck set:

And the trade wraps up with three basketball set builders:

The three remaining packages are all recent eBay purchases.  I searched my last name on TCDB and found one hit in the “Non-Sport” category.  I hopped on eBay and found a copy so I pulled the trigger:

 This 1934 card also takes a seat as the oldest in my collection.

The final two packages are both purchases of 2018-19 Chris Webber cards.  The first is a single card purchase – the Neon Green version of the Spectra insert (SN25):

The other Webber eBay purchase is a lot of five 2018-19 Prizm parallels.    The Blue (SN199), Blue Ice (SN99), and Hyper are all new additions to the collection:

A copy of the Blue Ice had a higher bid than the price I paid for this lot, so it's always nice to get a "deal".  The remaining two from the lot, Pink Ice and Silver, are duplicates that will soon appear on my For Trade list:

My 90-91 Pro Set master set is now 96.5% complete.  90-91 Score Canadian (78%), 91-92 Pinnacle (97%), and 92-93 Upper Deck (96%) are also coming along nicely.
