I woke up this morning just after 5:00, thanks to our daughter, and checked the ESPN app. Holy cats! Kawhi AND PG13 to the Clips?!?!?! Who knew that George was even in play? The West should be extremely competitive this coming season as the Clips, Lakers, Blazers, Nuggets, Rockets, and Jazz should all field strong teams. And OKC is sitting on a major haul of draft picks. Imagine if just half of those picks turn into good NBA players; makings of a pretty strong team. Finally. what does this mean for Westbrook? Will OKC tear it all down and seek a complete rebuild? Who would take Russ in a trade? He's 31, I believe, and on a supermax contract $$$.
Kawhi's move to LA should make the Bucks road to the Finals a little easier. At present it would appear Philly posts the biggest challenge. Boston could be good, but let's see if the team gels this year. Lord knows it did not last year. Toronto should take a step back with the loss of Kawhi. Will Siakam be "the man"? The Pacers could be strong. Oladipo returns and they get my man Brogdon. The Nets should be improved, but will be a year away (awaiting KD's return).
I received five packages today; all TCDB trades.
- My fourth trade with hawkking added a pair of Belfour's to my Hawks collection:
- My first trade with sandd0522 is a baseball affair that begins with set builders for 1990 Upper Deck and VAR for the 1991 Topps master set:
Followed by a pair of 2019 Topps flagship cards for Owen's collection: - My fifth trade with Dantheman is up next and kicks off with a basketball set builder:
Two important football set builders follow. These singles complete my 1991 Score and Upper Deck sets:
The remainder of the trade consists of Michigan football additions, beginning with Tom Brady:
And concluding with Darboh, Funchess, Hall, and Lewan: - Batting clean up tonight, my second trade with SWATty67. Nothing but Michigan football additions here:
- Tonight's fifth and final trade is my third with BigDog13 and includes solely basketball cards. Set builders kick things off, including 1994-95 sets:
1995-96 sets:
1996-97 sets:
1997-98 sets:
1998-99 sets:
And 1999-00 and 2000-01 sets:
The night's final trade concludes with Michigan basketball additions, including Traylor, Vaught, and Wilson:
Man, mid-to-late 1990s basketball cards are just the best.
